"One of the easiest forms of exercise to incorporate in to your program is a walking program. Walking is low impact, virtually no stress to the knees or ankles and a great way to increase your overall health and well being. Some techniques of walking are make sure that you roll heel toe. So the heel plants and then the toe. You can also make sure that the arms stay in tight because that'll help your pace of your walking. O.k., so if I walk heel toe and keep my arms in tight and move quickly, that'll help increase my pace. Make sure that you have really good walking shoes. You can go to almost any sports store now and look in the shoe department, they have walking shoes, specific for walking. Making sure that when walking it's heel toe and moving forward. Some of the shoes that you see out there for our cross trainers, they are meant to go side to side, and we don't go side to side when we walk. Make sure you're hydrated. Bring water with you if you're going to be out and about for a while. And again, start out easy, a nice easy pace, something that you can do for about fifteen to twenty minutes as you begin your exercise program. You can start to incorporate faster walking and or more times during the week to increase the intensity of your program. So again, walking, a great way to begin. Make sure that safe. Bring your cell phone with you, bring water, stay hydrated and wear your sunscreen. This is Alice Mansaert, asking you to get busy."
