"It's important to place activity into your day, whenever you can. If you're seated at a desk for long period of time. It's really a great idea to incorporate some exercise into your program This is Alice Monsaert. With some tips on how to exercise, while you're at work. I'm sitting on a stability ball. Which would be a great idea to get at your desk. Instead of a regular office chair. But if you are at your chair. You can do some of the same exercises, I'm going to demonstrate today. So first of all, you want to make sure that you're in a nice, tall seated position. If you're working at the computer all day or on the phone. Give yourself a chance and a break, to do some shoulder rolls or shoulder shrugs. Also, a nice thing to do, would be. Tilt your head side to side. Or rotate your nose towards your shoulder. To get the Trapezius stretched. Another you can do, is you could swivel your chair around. And do some leg extension exercises to wake up those quadriceps. Each side. You could also reach and stand up, ten times at your desk. So reaching up, over your head. And sitting back down on your chair or your ball. Will help strengthen the quadriceps and the glutes. Another thing to do, is rotate the arm backwards. So that you're opening up through the chest. The chest seems to get very tight as you're exercising or you're working at your desk, all day long. So open up the chest, stretch the chest. Bring the hands back to do a nice stretch. Or bring the arms forward to stretch through the back. You mostly need that chest exercise stretch, though. Some other tips that you can do, would be park the car, further away. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or the escalator. Walk around on your breaks instead of going to the refrigerator in the break room. So there's a lot of ways to incorporate exercise. And again, sitting on a stability ball is a perfect way to start to engage the core muscles. And have nice strength throughout the core. This is Alice Monsaert, encouraging you to stay active all day long."
