"As a parent have you ever wondered how to deal with toddler night terror? I am Doctor Donna with some advice on how to handle that blood curdling scream that wakes you up in the middle of the night. Makes you jump out of bed and run into find out that your child is having a night terror. They're screaming. They are throwing themselves around. They are inconsolable. A night terror is different than a nightmare. Your child that has a night terror won't remember it the next morning. They will go back to sleep like nothing happened. But the most important thing as a parent. You need to just kind of stay by to make sure they are not going to hurt themselves. When they are in a night terror you can not console them. They will not be able to be consolable. You just have to let them ride it out. Let them have the terror. Like I said keep them safe. Remember that sometimes children have night terrors because they are overly tired. They went to bed hungry. They went to bed really in uncomfortable conditions. Maybe there was stress going on in the house. Make sure that leading into the bedtime routine that things like stress and maybe even giving them a warm bath before may set them off. Into that state of mind. Night terrors are something that will pass. As children mature. But make sure that you just let them ride it out and they won't remember it the next morning. I am Doctor Donna with some tips on how to deal with night terrors. Good luck."
