"Have you ever wondered how to teach your child shapes? Hi, I'm Dr. Donna with some advice. The first thing you realize is that children are just, the whole environment is loaded with shapes. Use every opportunity to point out a shape when you have a, your child. Talk about circles, with their toys, with their books, with construction paper. You can use any type of paper to cut out shapes, glue them on, whatever. Also, I'm a big believer in using DVDs. Baby Einsteins, Brainy Babies they have some wonderful DVDs on teaching shapes. But there's a lot of them out there. I think the most important thing is to, when your child is looking at the DVD make sure you're sitting down and using it as a real tea, teachable moment. Talk about shapes when you're out in your environment. When you see shapes in a building, in a grocery store. The shape of an apple, the shape of a banana. Even though the shape of banana's an interesting shape it's still a shape. Talk about shapes at every opportunity. Point them out as they relate to their clothing, as they relate to their toys. Use the opportunity to be very teachable all the time. Use every opportunity with their toys to be teachable. This is Dr. Donna with some tips on how to teach children about shapes. Good luck."
