"Have you ever wondered how you are going to deal with transitioning your toddler from a crib to a bed? I am Doctor Donna with some tips on doing that. The first thing I think you have got to ask. Is your toddler truly ready to be transitioned into a big bed? There is a lot of responsibility that comes with that. A lot of parents want to jump into it and get them this whole big bed and get out of the crib. But I think you need to look and say is your child ready? Are they showing signs of wanting to get out of the crib? Are they crawling out of the crib? Because if they are that is the number one sign that you need to take warning, take heed to. Because that is a safety issue. Once you have made the decision to move into a big bed. Make sure you get one that has a support systems on the side. Because your toddler has been used to sleeping in a baby bed that they could easily roll over and roll out. The next thing is make the big production. Talk about moving into the toddler bed. Go buy some sheets. A new pillow. You know what ever is going to help them transition into. Also when you first transition your child into the bed make sure that you talk them that how important it is to stay in the bed at night time. To not get up and move around. That they will need to stay sleeping in this bed. Also once you do that you have got to be concerned about them coming down in the middle of the night. So make sure that if you have safety gets up, put those up. Night lights so they can see if it is dark. But take some caution. Be prepared for some sleepless nights.
