"Have you ever wondered how to prevent your child from bed wetting? Hi, my name's Dr. Donna with some advice. The first thing you've got to realize is that nobody wants to wake up in the morning with their bed wet. So it's not an intentional thing the children are doing. Relax, have some patience about this whole process. It's a normal part of potty training with toddlers. The first thing you want to do is maybe look at restricting their fluid, two to three hours prior to going to bed. Encourage them to go to use the bathroom prior to bed time. Also make sure that if your child is able to get up out of bed, let them wear some loose, loose clothing. So if they're able to get out they can make it to the potty without having accidents. Talk about the importance that if they have the feeling to get up and go or call you to come up and help you with it. Doing pull-ups is a wonderful way to encourage them to go, but also realize that accidents will happen. If your child seems to be going through dry periods and all of a sudden starts wetting their bed again, you may want to talk to a pediatrician. Maybe that's a sign of something more. Also, remember, don't scold. They're not doing it on purpose. This is Dr. Donna with some tips on how to teach your child to prevent bed wetting. Good luck."
