How to Use Vellum on a Scrapbook Page

"Which picture to choose. Let me see. I think I like these two. I like to use velum when I'm using my scrapbooking pages it gives it an interesting look. I'm Janet Casto your independent demonstrator with Stampin' Up! and today I'm going to show you a couple ways to add velum to your scrapbook pages. Now there's two kinds of velum. One is a thicker velum that's more like a card stock and one is a thinner velum. Alright? And so I chose the two pictures that I want to highlight and what I've done, I'm going to show you two different ways. This velum I've taken and I've used some embossing powder, clear, just to give it a little design. And what I'm going to do is just place that velum right over my picture, the whole picture, and then just place it into my scrapbook album. You can see the picture behind and it looks really interesting. It gives the picture a whole new dimension. Now the second velum what I'm going to do, this time I've embossed it using one of the craft inks to give it some color. So what I'm going to do this time is give the velum little peek-a-boo holes. So I found a picture that I like that will work good for this technique and what I'm going to do is I'm going to punch out with my scallop edged punch just a circle or a scallop and then what I'm going to do is when I put my velum on top the girls picture is going to show through the velum. So you've got your design on the side and then the highlight element of the face. And again this will just go right into my scrapbook. Now besides using velum for pictures you could use it with your journaling. You could use it just as a background. You can have a lot of fun with velum. Think of it as just another way to use card stock.
