Crafts are an important part of teaching children. They can improve a child's imagination, bolster and accelerate a child's creative development and help them learn certain concepts in a fun and interesting way. Whether making hand turkeys from brown construction paper for Thanksgiving, building the world's largest Popsicle stick sculpture, or just making a mess of construction paper scraps, crafts are a good way to keep the kids busy and help them learn to have fun with creativity. In this free craft video series, professional scrapbooking expert Janet Casto teaches many home crafts for kids and adults. Casto gives great craft ideas for memory books, remote control caddies, decorative paper, storing supplies, gifts for parents and more. She handles each craft with experienced direction and suggestions for great results.
"Hi, my name is Janet Casto, I'm an independent demonstrator with Stampin Up. And I've just finished stamping my design, and I'm going to show you a quick and easy way to decorate a picture frame for a nice gift. Here I've stamped a beautiful seashell. So for my accents I was at the craft store, and I picked up some seashell accents. And all I did there was glue them to the picture frame. And then I took a ribbon and a coordinating color, and I tied it to the top. This one use to have a plain ribbon, and I wanted to give it a little bit of color. So there's one way to decorate a quick picture frame. And you can get these frames from any of the local stores, for inexpensive, and then really make them into nice gifts. Here's the same picture frame with a different look. I took one of our scrap booking kits, added some stickers, and again, added some pretty ribbon to it. So a quick and easy way to make a baby gift. The last way I want to show you how to decorate a frame is using rub ons. This is my dog Zelda, but here is what I wanted to show you. These rub ons work really well on glass, they can rub on wood, you can do a lot of things with them. So three easy ways you can make beautiful picture frames, and decorate them. I'm Janet Casto, your independent demonstrator with Stampin Up. I hope you'll use one of these ideas and make a great gift for someone you love."
