"Hi, my name's Tim Cole. I'm with the Austin Reptile Service. I've been keeping reptiles and amphibians for over forty years. And we're here to talk about buying toads for pets. Toads aren't as commonly kept for pets, or bred for pets, so you might have a little difficulty finding 'em. But I would start with the expos. Go out to a reptile and amphibian expo and check around, and you'll probably find somebody has some available. Chances are they're going to be wild caught. There aren't that many people breeding toads for pets. So, if you get wild caught toad, you might want to examine it's stools, make sure it doesn't have parasites. Maybe take it to the vet and have it looked at. But toads can be a little bit easier than frogs. They don't usually require as much humidity, depending on the species of the toad. Your Suriname, of course, is aquatic, so you set that up a fish aquarium. Fire belly toads like quite a bit of water, but also get out on land. The marine toads, and the American toads, Gulf coast toads, they do fine without having anything more than a dish of water. You can get on the inter net, look around. You can probably find some toads that are available."
