"If I had some advice or tips for becoming a movie actor, I would say don't focus on becoming a movie actor, initially. Focus on being a good actor. I think fundamentals and training are important, for anybody that wants to go in to the arts. Study people that you enjoy watching.Put that in your kit bag. Burt Reynolds always told me, if you see something you like, put it in your kit bag. Try to keep that backpack going, and of things that you enjoy. Go to a mall, watch people. Observe, be a great observer. Naturalists observe nature, and enjoy all the different things in nature. I think actors enjoy watching people in conflict, in harmony, in day to day lives. What makes that person interesting to watch, as they're walking down the street, as opposed to another person? Well, that's the things that connect us, and all make us human, but yet, somebody is always standing out in the crowd, so to speak, so find out why that person is standing out. Watch what they do. Be a good observer of things, and human traits. For me, the biggest challenge or challenges that I faced being a movie actor, I think is working in a negative environment, where people, directors, or other actors are not exactly nice, or giving, or appreciative of a performance, or something you're trying to do, and they're very short with you or something, and that's generally the worst thing that happens to actors, is you find out that the people you're collaborating with, aren't exactly on the same page with you, and you try to make the best of it. Maybe you've got an actress that's having a horrible time with her boyfriend, and she's not nice to be around, so you just kind of superimpose a nice pleasant person on that person, that you're working with, and try to get along with them, or a director is screaming and hollering, and it's not the best environment for you to be in, and he doesn't understand, that's not exactly the way to get a good performance out of your actors. You just kind of hold your breath for a second, say a prayer for them and move on, because I do this for me, as much as I do it for anybody else, when we're trying to get the strokes and get pleasure, little pats on the back out there. As much as I'm doing it for someone else, more than that, I'm doing this for me, so it's all about me, quite frankly. It's a little selfish, but that's the way you get through things."
