"Hi, I'm Hunter from the Austin Aqua-Dome. All healthy fish tanks grow algae, enough algae can become a nuisance to many aquariums. To get rid of algae on a glass fish tank there are a number of things that you can do. A razor scraper is one of the easiest methods for getting in and getting at stubborn algae. For daily to weekly cleaning of light film algae on the glass, a magnetic algae scraper can be very useful. These have become very popular and have saved a lot of people a lot of trouble and a lot of wetness. For stubborn algae on a glass tank, there's nothing really better than a nice razor blade, of course these don't last long in salt water for more than one use. Plastic and acrylic aquariums take special consideration. They do make special plastic blades that can be used to clean them and there are special nonabrasive magnet cleaners that you can use."
