"You know everybody wants to plat basketball and most people want to take it to the ultimate level. This is how to get recruited into a basketball program in college. Hi, I'm Travis and I'm going to tell you a little bit about how to do that. Number one, the first thing you probably want to do, you want to try to make, make your high school basketball team. Now this, sometimes you have people that don't make it, may not make it in J.V. and that might be your motivation for making it later but you want to make the high school basketball team first. After you make your high school basketball team then your focus is on exposure, exposure. You want colleges to see you; however you choose to do that. When you start playing games, try to; if, if your school doesn't film their games which they probably should, if your school doesn't film your games you want to get someone, someone; maybe someone in your family or a friend to kind of film your games and to show you to college coaches, and so that you can see what your game is like. You also, another thing you need to do is in the summertime work on your games, go to camps, get, get; get to tournaments, get to all these different kind of places where you can get exposure so that college coaches, that you know college coaches are going to be, maybe an all star camp in the summertime so that they can see you and they can see if you're going to fit into their set offense, their, their type of basketball program. So once you do that, you get the film together, you get a list of colleges that you would like to go to, you send that film to those colleges and you want to kind of have maybe have a letter from your coach in support of you and what your, what your merits are on the court. After you do that and you start playing, if you, if you advertise enough and the coach is start, your name starts to get out, you're in the paper, you're starting to get that exposure what happens is coaches will start calling you or maybe calling your school looking for you wanting to, wanting to know more information about you, your grades, your S.A.T. scores which you have to have a certain S.A.T. score to get into college. After you do that you have to get cleared by the clearing house, once you're in, you're in. You, you, hopefully you'll get a full scholarship but they also give partials. There you have it, getting into college playing college basketball."

on 9/30/2009 Great advice, get exposure!!! That is key, coaches need to know who you are, you need to put yourself in front of a college coach. This is easier said then done. One of the best recruiting tools is a highlight video. Many coaches do not have the ability to make the trek to see you play. A highlight video is a great way to allow a coach to view your true potential. If they like what they see they will want to see more. Include a full length game on your highlight video dvd. Hooplights provides professional basketball highlight videos and include a full length game tape so every coach has the option of seeing more of you. www.hooplights.com.
