"Are you ready to spice up your shimmy with some nice layers? My name is Karen and this is Johanna we're with Hip Expressions Belly Dance Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida. Let's do a vertical figure 8 that travels up and then we're going to layer that with a shimmy. So let's, I'm going to stand to the side so you can see the movement first, so we're going to pull it in and back. Forward and back so bring shift your weight to the front and then pull in through your belly and keep it there and press it back without sticking this out. Keep your belly really engaged to the spine here so forward and back and forward and back. Good. Keep the chest lifted. Keep those heels pressed into the floor. Are you ready to add the shimmy? Let's get it going nice and strong. Good. Let's bring it forward. Pull it back and forward and back and let's speed it up a little bit. Forward. Back. Forward. Back. Forward. Back. Stay lifted. Keep breathing. Little faster. Forward. Back. Forward. Back. Forward. Back. Forward. Back. Good. Practice this in the mirror and you'll have a nice vertical figure 8 shimmy layer too."
