"My name is Dorothy Schick, I'm a flight Instructor and Owner of takeWing at the Creswell Airport, near Eugene, Oregon. I'll talk a little bit about what Flight Instructors make. I started out as both a Business Owner and a Flight Instructor, so I jumped in to the job both because I wanted to create a livelihood for myself and for other Flight Instructors. My earnings initially were not what I would have expected from other jobs like this, but they've increased and you know, we were starting out fifteen or twenty years ago with maybe ten or fifteen dollars and hour, and now Flight Instructors are upwards of seventy five dollars an hour for their services, which reasonably translates to, if you do enough students in a year, work with enough clients and customers, you're looking at a forty five to fifty thousand dollars a year, which is certainly reasonable enough for me considering I love the office I work in."
