"Hi, I'm Mike Mugford. I pastor Friendly Street Church of God here in Eugene, Oregon. I've been the pastor here for about twenty years and I've been asked to talk a little bit about why I became a Pastor. That's a tough question. Bottom line is there wasn't anything else I could do that would make me happy. This was a place where I felt called. The minute I began to do ministry it became my passion. It became what I wanted to do. If you're not called, if it's not your passion, you will hate it every day of your life. It's hard work, it's full of disappointments, it's full of heartache, but it's also the most exciting, the most invigorating place you could find to serve. God's got to call you is the bottom line. I don't think you just decide like you might decide that you want to run a restaurant or be a doctor. There's got to be a calling on your life to make it work. God's got to give you a passion towards the people and towards broken people, people that are hurting. If you don't have that, before long you'll either sell insurance or something else because the money's not motivating enough. It's got to be about the passion of your heart and what you really care about."
