"My name is Alex and I am an entry level engineer for Weber Eliot Engineers in Eugene, Oregon and I'm going to talk about some of the best parts of being an entry level engineer. Probably some of the most fun you have is when you are learning new things and people are giving you a hard time, poking fun at you. No particular time comes to mind but there is definitely a lot of questions you ask that you receive a lot o blank stares and you get a lot of snide comments that you take seriously at first and then you realize that they really weren't asking all that much from you, they're just giving you a hard time because you are new. I think that happens to anybody who starts out in a job, starts out fresh. Some of the most fun that you have here is there is a lot of generosity in this field I have found, at least in this firm and I know that it varies from firm to firm but really there is a lot of fun at the company lunches, company dinners they have once a year. There is a lot of good conversation. Generally the people are pretty friendly and quite family oriented and you hear a lot of stories about peoples' families and sometimes their family members even leave non-engineering oriented paraphernalia around that you pick up and think is yours and then you realize no that was just Paul's son leaving his dungeons and dragons character sheet lying around. There is just a lot of character in everybody here and there is a lot of kind of inside humor you get just from being the new guy and making the same mistakes that everyone else made a thousand times when they were that age and when they were starting out."
