"My name is Alex and I am an entry level engineer working at Weber Eliot Engineers in Eugene, Oregon and I'm going to tell you how to become an entry level engineer. Generally you become an entry level engineer by going to some higher, some institution of higher education. You can go to a university and go to a special technical school. In my case I went to a four year university without an engineering program. I got a degree in mathematics and then that was enough to get me an internship or an entry level position. However, if you want to have the smoothest ride and the easiest way to making a career out of engineering you want to go to a post graduate degree program where you can get certified as an engineer. You can take an engineering program or you can even just get a four year degree in engineering and then that will be the most direct way to getting your license. Becoming a licensed engineer is the way in which you really can get more money. Being a licensed engineer gives you a lot more responsibility but it also is a lot more of a career. It gives you a lot more of a salary and a lot more job security."
