"My name is Alex and I am an entry level engineer. I work for Weber Eliot Engineers in Eugene, Oregon and I'm going to talk about what it is an entry level engineer does. An entry level engineer is generally they do what an engineer does but they don't go into as much depth at first obviously. They do a lot more of the drafting part of engineering. More experienced engineers usually do more of the interesting calculations. They set up more of the real world problems. They make a lot of judgment calls that they are uniquely qualified to make and the entry level people tend to do more drafting, more routine things that less experienced people are able to do. They might do some calculations, but the simpler ones. They'll probably do more basic assignments with fewer steps and less in depth and in general they won't see as far into the project as an engineer who has seen entire projects from start to finish. Usually as an entry level engineer you'll just take and see little snapshots of what is going on. Then they basically work doing the lower level calculations, engineering tasks, and assist the other engineers."
