"Hi, I'm Amy Erinberger and I'm a fashion, commercial model and I have been since I was a young child. I'm going to tell you about the pros and cons that I've found in the modeling world. The pros are that it's interesting work at times. You get to meet exciting people, sometimes travel, make lots of connections, and it's an exciting kind of a lifestyle. The cons, people think it's a little more glamorous than it really is. There's a lot of holding body positions that may or may not be comfortable, or faking that happy smile when you might not be feeling it. So it is a little bit like acting and you have to just be able to put everything aside and come through professionally for your client because that's what they're paying you to do. And you do get paid very well, so that's another positive. For your time, an hourly wage, you're getting paid much better than most of the world. So that's a big benefit to modeling. Keeping yourself in shape and knowing how to apply make-up if you're a woman or even a man in some cases and knowing how to walk, these are things that you need to educate yourself about. So it can be a con if you're not prepared. You can, you need to get some training and get some insight and feel confident. And another con that I've seen many people go through and I have gone through periods of this myself, is having that confidence and being comfortable with yourself and your body image so that the world of modeling doesn't make you feel inadequate or not beautiful enough. You need to really shine through with your inner beauty. And that's what the client is going to see and they'll book you because of it."
