Video Transcript

"To become an RN or a registered nurse you must first complete a course of study in nursing. Either a two year course of study resulting in an associates in nursing or a four year course of study resulting in a bachelors in nursing. Either will allow you to sit for your state licensing exam to become an RN. For those who are wishing a practice in clinical nursing the two year course of study is usually sufficient. This will allow you to become a registered nurse in the shortest amount of time. If you wish a career in a sub specialty in nursing such as surgical nursing or if you wish a career in nursing administration then it's advisable to complete the four year course of study resulting in the bachelors in nursing. Either way, either the two year course of study or the four year course of study the next step is to sit for your state licensing exam and upon passing your licensing exam you will become a registered nurse and will be able to practice in the health care industry."
