One of the first things you have to determine is why you want to quit smoking. You can make a list on a piece of paper stating the reasons why it would be beneficial to quit smoking. You can go back and refer to this list frequently after you stop the process of smoking. You could also change your routine. Those times of the day when you feel the urge to smoke, like in the morning with coffee or after eating could be changed to where you go for a walk, start some type of exercise routine. Prepare yourself you are going to feel the urge to smoke. When you feel the urge to smoke go get a drink of water, chew some gum or do something that's going to change your routine to help you get your mind off the urge. Smoking is the leading cause of disease and health problems throughout the world. If you really want to quite smoking, give it your best and know that your are going to feel the urge for a two week or more process.
