"Knots have a long and varied history and I'm going to show you one of the more decorative knots. My name is Robert Segundo and we're going to do a figure of eight knot. If you look down on our table here, we can see I have my length of rope. What I'm going to do is I'm just going to pull out some, I'm going to make a little loop in it like so. And I'll bring it over the top of my line here. My standing end. Then I'm going to bring it back under, up and through like so. And as you can see, it forms this figure eight already. Now, as we pull it tight, it will form this nice stopper knot. With a figure of eight. Very nice, and very decorative. And this is very useful if you have like a jug or something that has a little loop in it that you could put onto and it pull, and you could hold your jug back string, or whatever. That's kind of the only really the only use this knot has. Let's do it one more time. Bring it up, pull a loop into it, bring it over, and under, up and around from that pretzel shape that turns into our figure eight. And pulling it tight. And there you have it. Your figure of eight knot. My name is Robert Segundo, and enjoy tying knots."
