"To get a great environmental impact out of using cloth diapers, you might consider using a cloth diaper service. Hi, I'm Erin Sheppard with Austin Baby, and I'm going to talk about some ideas on using a cloth diaper cleaning service. The first thing that you'll need to do in locating a diaper service is checking to see if there's one available locally. You might ask your health food stores. Look on-line. Ask friends that use cloth diapers. And if there's a cloth diapering store in your area, then they would probably know as well. Once you find one, some questions that you want to ask are how the diapers are washed and any products that they use. What type of products they are, if they're environmentally friendly. If they bleach the diapers or not. And of course be ready to have your opinions on what you want for your baby and your household with those products. More and more cloth diapering services are moving to use environmentally bio-degradable products that are natural and safe for your baby. Some other questions that you'd like to know is of course the cost. And typically they can run anywhere from around sixty to a hundred dollars depending on the types of diapers that are used and how they're washed and the delivery services that are involved. And most diaper services have a set up fee that you pay one time. Some diaper services have contracts, others do not. So be sure to find out how much time will be committed in getting started with a diapering service. And once you decide on which diaper service you would like to use, some things that are good to know is exactly how it works. In most cases you will receive your set up which is typically a pail with a liner in that pail and your starter diapers and covers if they offer covers or rent the covers and the snappy which attaches the diaper. You'll receive all those goods, and if you're expecting you would give the diaper service a call once the baby has come and you've started using the diapers. And then they will pick them up once a week. Pick up the dirties. You would just set them out on your porch and leave you with clean diapers. Some diaper services charge per the diaper use, others do not. And that would just depend on the diaper service and the type of contract you have with them. A diaper service is a great way to go because the diapers are washed in bulk. And a lot of energy is saved in washing the community's diapers like that. Thank you very much. I'm Erin Sheppard with Austin Baby."
