"Hi, are you like me? Get lost going around the corner for bread. Hi, I'm Rokosz, your digital lifestyle expert, to tell you about the maps feature on the iPhone 3G. What they've done is they've actually invented a GPS chip inside of the iPhone, which allows it to not only triangulate like it used to--utilizing wireless networks and cell towers. But now it actually talks to the satellites in space to tell you exactly where you are. I'm going to show you a little bit how they do that. Choose the maps application. It's going to launch the maps here. And now here we have the entire world. No, we do not want to join this network. We're going pure 3G. All right, now I'm going to hit this button right down here, and it's going to find us. Schwank, right over here. And now you're going to get to see the location of the secret Rokosz media studios. Don't tell anybody. All right, now you can see we're right around there. And this is a satellite view from space. Now, let's say we want to see it as a map. So I'm going to hit this little button right here, and it's going to curl the page back. Now we can change to a pure satellite view, like this, and peel it back and drop a pen, all right, right there on top of it. Now I can move the pen by picking it up and dropping it down. It turns out that it is perfect right there--not in the middle of the road, but back onto my location. I'm going to leave it there in the road. Now I can make that pen, in this case the studio--so if I ever want to use driving directions by hitting that from the drop pin location, and then I can show to drive through anybody in my contact list, and show me how to get turn-by-turn directions that way. And that's just a taste of the things that you can do with the maps application and the embedded GPS chip inside the iPhone 3G. I'm Rokosz, your digital lifestyle expert, saying stream you later."
