How to Draw Emo Cartoons

"Okay folks. In this clip I'm going to teach you how to draw emo cartoons. Now they are a little bit different than your everyday cartoons. They are - they tend to be a little bit more, well, they are creative definitely. They are a little bit more outside the box and oftentimes they can be kind of creepy and depressing but they are also incredibly interesting. They are probably the most interesting visual cartoons out there honestly because they are so not like anything else that you see. One thing you're going to want to do is toss out the notion completely that you're doing something conventional. The thing about emo cartoons is that they are raw. They are dirty and they do not care whatsoever about convention or, you know, what's normal. In this world things are very, very exaggerated and oftentimes very dark. Now you can let your mind go to a place like this if you wish. I personally have a hard time kind of wrapping my mind around the artists that create this material, but you see it and it is visually fascinating. Like one thing is it always looks very, very, very raw. They took an idea and they really just kind of dirtied it up. They didn't add any like - they don't sugar coat it whatsoever. They make it very sort of just almost borderline disturbing and ratty. So when you start to create emo cartoons allow yourself to really just tap into that part of you that doesn't really care if you color in between the lines. Kind of get a general idea of what it is you want to do and just kind of go with it. Make it really just kind of raw. Don't - I probably made this one just a little bit too neat initially. Don't allow yourself, you know, don't think in terms of neatness or order. Allow your mind to kind of go to the darker corners and just kind of explore what's there. That's essentially what it means to draw emo cartoons. A lot of times there is no real pattern for them like where they come from or why. A lot of times it's rather pointless to try and explain why they are the way they are. But I've got to say it is definitely fun to see the kinds of things you can come up with when you let your mind kind of wander that way, and a little frightening. I'm not going to lie. This is basically then just your own little imagination gone wild. There's nothing more to it than that. So you kind of get the vibe that we're going for here right. You can see sort of the edgier darker undertone. The sort of macabre morbid design, and just a basically overwhelming desire to steer clear of what's normal. That my friends is emo cartoons."
