"Actually a dental assistant just helps the doctor, assists the doctor. We do all kinds of things. We do all the procedures with the doctors. It could be from crown and bridge to composites and it's very exciting filled because you get to see several different things a day. It is not one thing all the time. So we try to help them with charts or filing, anything that the doctor really needs us to do. We pretty much just help with the, placing composites, not composites, sorry I take that back, we don't place the composites. We just help the doctors pretty much assist with any type of procedure that he does in the office whether it is major or just minor things. I became a dental assistant by going to a trade school and I just happened to drop by one day and noticed that they were offering that field and I have always been interested in doing that. So it took about a year to go through and they teach you everything you need to know from pouring models to doing procedures to making temporaries and then from there I went on and did an internship and then got hired on by Dr. Carr and Dr. Smith and I've been here about three years. It will be three years in August and it has been a wild experience but a lot of fun. You learn all the time. I really love what I do."
