"The school loans that I took out were relatively low because I worked my way through school. Okay, so I had a job. I was a micro-biology assistant, I made the plastic name tags for all the dental students with an engraver. I made jewelry for Neiman-Marcus. So I was always making money, and my wife was making money. But if you take out a loan, and you don't have any access to income, you can take out a significant loan. The federal government has a loan for students that you can pay back over ten years. And so it was very helpful in the loans that I did take out. Then when you get in practice, you have a choice. You can go work for another dentist, you can do research, or you can open your practice, point-blank. If you open it up from scratch, or buy out another practice, then you're pretty heavily in debt even more so that dental school."
