"Hi everybody I'm John Graden from the Martial Arts Teacher's Association and johngraden.com. How do you defend against somebody grabbing your hair? You know when somebody grabs your hair it really hurts and the first thing we want to do is to relieve that pressure. I'm going to show you how and we're going to pretend I have hair. Joining me from Pro Star Mixed Martial Arts is Mr. Joe Brignoli. If somebody grabs your hair during a hair grab it hurts. The first thing I want to do is relieve that pressure by grabbing their hand actually and pulling it down to my head. Two things happen when I do that, one, it relieves the pain, it doesn't hurt any more, two, I trap their hand and because I trap their hand look how much of their body is wide open here. I can take my fingers reach up and grab his armpit hair and yank it, pinch his nipple and punch him, smack him, kick him, knee him, stomp him, kick him in the groin, smash him in the groin, poke him in the eye and I'm able to do all of these because I've locked up one of his weapons. So I'm going to pull this thing and another thing if you want to get into inflicting additional pain I can grab that and just drop really hard and try to snap the wrist. I can then roll it over into an arm bar but typically for me I'm more of a striker, I want to trap that to relieve the pain and I'm want to immediately make this guy pay for grabbing me and reaching out with one of his weapons to grab my hair. Rule number one, relieve the pressure, rule number two, make him pay. I'm John Graden. I hope that helps. Thanks."
