"Hi there, I'm Russ Handler with another tip on Hanukkah. One of my favorite times of the year. And lets concentrate on how to buy Hanukkah gifts. You know you tell a non-Jewish youngster that during Hanukkah, Jewish kids get eight gifts. Eight days consecutively. One each day. And watch their eyes just light up. Now you've got to be practical if you're going to be doing that. Generally when you choose your gifts and choose where to get them, you might want to begin shopping during the beginning of the year. Far in advance of Hanukkah. Make sure that you give something that is big in the beginning and at the end. And then more practical items in the middle. So, when you decide to purchase your gifts, be creative. But also think of the child's needs. When you are going shopping, think of wos this is a nice item my child might like, but you know, its not an appropriate time perhaps for Hanukkah. When they ask for special things, say hey, how bout for Hanukkah? That will help you over the year develop your strategy for purchasing gifts for Hanukkah. Its very very simple. Adults don't need a lot. Sometimes the children don't need to shop at all. They can be creative and make their own gifts. But most importantly Hanukkah is about being together. Not about the gifts. So when you do shop for Hanukkah gifts, do so wisely and have a wonderful year ahead. I'm Russ Handler. And I'll see you in temple."
