"Hello, I'm Russ Handler and you know one of the trickiest parts about planning a Bar or Bat Mitzvah is the invitation. Let's face it, you have to have everything in place before you can get that invitation together. Let's first concentrate on what you need to have in place. Of course, the caterer's got to be available, the venue for the party has to be available, the Temple has to be available, and of course, grandma and grandpa have to be available as well. So, first of all, consult with everybody, get all your ducks in a row. Get yourself a check list and before you go to print with that invitation, make sure that everything is absolutely set in stone. Another thing I could suggest, definitely you will want to tailor your invitation around any theme that the child might have for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Very important, because that's going to set the tone and give people a really good idea of what a great time that they're going to have ahead of them when they come and join you and your family for this special occasion. Now, you can either choose to have it done professionally from a printer, or you could choose to have the child's congregation mates do it themselves. That's always a nice little tip. That, if they can do it and be very creative and put together their own invitations, it's very personalized. A lot of times they take a lot of pride in doing that, and you may even want to involve the family as well.
