"In this clip we're going to talk about the street beat. Now New Orleans street beat gets its name from the brass bands that would go through the streets, especially before, during, and after a funeral procession. Now, a street beat is made up of a syncopated beat which is triplets. One triplet, two triplet, three. One triplet, two triplet, three. (Demo) Now some songs that have actually made a lot of money strictly because that beat is so accessible, naturally, to the human psyche. One of the most famous song is "Iko Iko". (Demo) I'm sure you recognize that beat from many other songs, from shows as "Grease", the song "Hand Jive", also George Michael's "Faith" is based on that street beat."
