"Hi, my name is Amy Kistler. Can you workout too much? Definitely. I mean, just like, can you eat too much food? Yes. You always want to do things in moderation. With exercising, if you work out every single day lifting weights, you are going to wear out your body. If you run a marathon every single day, you're going to kill your body. You're going to hurt your feet. You want to make sure that when you do something, that you do it the right amount. You don't want to overdo anything. You'll also get tired, and you'll get bored with it, if you do it every single day, and then you're not going to stick with it. You want exercise to stick with you for the rest of your life, so if you lift weights every single day, you're not allowing recovery for your body, and you're not allowing that muscle to build, so that's one thing that comes into play, with exercising too much. You want to make sure that when you're lifting weights, you're lifting weights and giving that rest period. With cardio, cardio you can do most days of the week, but still, you want to make sure you at least have one day of rest, so your body doesn't get over trained, so how much should you exercise, just to be healthy? Well, it's recommended that you at least exercise for thirty minutes, most days of the week, and then two days of strength training, which is six to eight exercises, with about two within each exercise, you should probably do two sets, with about twelve reps, so what is a set? and what is a rep, when it comes to weight training? For example, if you're doing a lap pull down, we're going to do twelve lap pull downs, and then we're going to rest, and then we're going to do another set of twelve reps, so you'd want to do weight training about two to three times a week. It's recommended that you at least do it two times a week, but you're going to get greater benefits, if you do it three times a week, so in between those days of exercising, you want to at least have forty eight hours, to one hundred and forty four hours, rest. That is if, you're doing a full body workout. If you're not doing a full body workout, and you're breaking up the body into about one thirds. Then what you could do, for example. Let's say on Monday, we worked our back and biceps. We want to at least rest one day before doing the next exercise."
