"So probate lawyer career paths--it's not easy to break into this area of the law, if you're a budding law student or if you're a lawyer. And the reason it's not easy to break into this area of law is because mainly older lawyers do this. And older lawyers have been around a long time. And older lawyers know a lot of people. And it's interesting in this area of the law, that when I go to probate court I feel like I'm walking to the elephant graveyard, because all the old lawyers, who when they were young lawyers did trial work and did divorces and did criminal law, all end up in probate court because all their friends are getting older, and so to be a probate attorney, you need to have a steady stream of families who come in that have lost a loved one, that need your help in probating the estate. So, of course you can advertise for that business, and that may work, and you can network for the business, and that may work, but I think you'll find that most of the probate lawyers are older because their friends are older, their family is older. That's how they get their clients."
