"Most of the people around here have become software engineers by going to college. And a lot of them started out with different careers, other careers, mathematics, or physics, or we have some people from biology. And this is probably the best way to get into the software engineering field, is to get a bachelors or masters degree from an accredited institution. But a lot of people are also very good- they're good in hacking for example, or they're good at- they start out as technicians, they go to a 2 year technical college, and they come in, maybe not as a software developer, by maybe as a Q.A. engineer, tester, lab technician or something like that, and they work their way up to a software developer. So those are really two ways to career path, so to speak. Two ways to become a software engineer"
