If it's basic sales or basic customer service, the skills involved are often times minimal. You have to have some basic typing skills. The most they usually require is forty words per minute, but usually they'll accept anything above twenty. And that is just basic data entry. You'll follow a script, you'll enter in information, you'll acquire customer information, or you'll update customer information, depending on whether its sales or customer service. If you're going in to telecommunications as far as in the IT field and you know, technical support sort of situation, that would require a little more knowledge if its support in as far as computer capacity, you have to have certain certifications in order to qualify and be employed with those. Sometimes if you go in to the telemarketing or the technical support field, they will offer training and get you certified in order to work on those programs and then the training is usually a month to two months. So you know, basically you're going through you're taking the test and learning the material and getting certified. So depending on the total of communications skill that you go in to, whether its technical support or sales or inbound customer service, the skills will vary. But the entry level being inbound customer service or inbound sales or outbound sales, are typically very easy to get into. And your telecommunication skills, it is very important to have good communication or good personal, inner personal skills to be able to communicate and to touch base, well make a connection with a customer when you're talking to them, whether its in sales, you have charisma and you engage the customer or the potential customer and listen. Listening is very important as well. You need to be able to listen to what the customer is saying because you cannot see their body language, obviously you're talking to them through a phone. So being able to listen to and decipher what the customer is telling you, and what they're saying and what they're not saying and their tone and their pace. And also very important in inner personal skills is the ability to speak well and enunciate and to speak clearly so the customers can understand and you can make and you can make your point and you also when you speak well and you listen to the customer well, or the potential customer, it's much easier to gain their trust. If they trust you they'll much more readily purchase something form you or spend more time talking with you on the phone if you are doing a survey. Or in customer service if you're offering them a solution or you're trying to help them, if you can build their trust and explain to them in a very efficient fashion that what you're doing for them is going to work or what they need to do or the steps that they need to take will work, then it's very important to have that trust so that they believe you. So obviously inner personal skills are very important."
