"When I was younger, I loved animals, and I wanted to become a park ranger, believe it or not. That was something that I just enjoyed doing. I realized later, as I got older, that that wasn't going to make that much money for me. I became interested in physical therapy when I started playing more sports as I was growing up, and I was danger prone. I kept spraining ankles, I kept hurting knees, hurting hips, doing various things like that. And therefore, I ended up going to the physical therapist. The physical therapist that worked on me, his name was Larry Brown, and as I was in high school, he helped me get back from being injured from ankle sprains back to playing basketball and soccer pretty quick. And, after I had been treated by Larry Brown and kind of got interested in the physical therapy field, I received a scholarship to go to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I also played volleyball too, and every time I turned around I had a jammed finger or a sprained wrist, and so just seeing what he did for me really got me interested in the profession. When I got into college doing my undergraduate work, I started looking into a little bit more, and to further my education, I applied to eight different physical therapy schools to get my master's degree. I was accepted to a couple of them. The one I went to was in Dallas, Texas, and I was there for two and a half years. And then after that, continuing and furthering my education in the path that I'm on now, I go to continuing education courses so we can stay up to date with the new things that they find and the new research they find to advance physical therapy to help patients get better."
