"A physical therapist generally starts out making between $45 to $50,000 a year, and that's usually here in the state of Utah. Other states I'm not exactly sure. If you to the east coast you're probably going to get more money. If you go out to the west coast you're probably going to get more money. But usually in the middle it's a little less. The highest you can get--that's very debatable because it depends on what you're doing as the therapist. If you're the director of a clinic, like I am, you're going to be earning more money. If you're a director of a facility or hospital, you're obviously going to get more money there. If you're just the staff therapist, starting out, you're going to be on that lower end. But it has potential to go pretty high. And I don't have a specific number there. The field of physical therapy, though, there's a lot of different aspects and things you can go into. You can do orthopedic therapy. You can do hand specialist therapy. You can do wound care. You can do rehab therapy, which deals primarily with spinal chord injuries and traumatic brain injuries. You can do sports medicine therapy. So if you look at those different areas in therapy, you can see that there is a potential to have a lot of different salaries. That's why it's hard to say exactly what one of the salaries--or what the average salary of a therapist would be. Here in our company at Registered Physical Therapists, the company was made with the therapist in mind, and so the benefits that the therapists get in our company is that our company pays for all of our health insurance, and it pays for our continuing education that we have to take, and therefore that takes that we would be earning our salary and we don't have to pay taxes on it, we don't have to put a portion away ourselves, and so that actually is a very good benefit for us, to where can focus our other money towards our family and our clinic."
