"First paying, good paying job as a storyteller, as a writer, came with my publication of my story Charlie's Treasures which is a children's book and actually written for adults. When we took that to the L.A. Times Festival of Books and launched it there and actually began to sell the books and make some revenue from selling the books that was an amazing event for me. Because it was a long road to get there. I had written before then but actually to have a book that was finished and completed and something that people enjoyed reading and were paying for. It was very special to me. So I would have to say that the first gig was when I wrote and published Charlie's Treasures. Got it into distribution nationally. Now it's in Barnes and Noble. And actually having a book that's in distribution that people can buy. So I mean that was probably my first event in getting in to being a really recognized published author."
