Wedding Cake Tasting Expectations

"Hi, I'm Malissa Maggiore with Alessi Bakeries in Tampa, Florida. I'm here to talk to you today about what you might expect at your wedding cake tasting. If you've already booked a tasting with your baker, most likely when you go in to actually taste the flavors, you're going to have an arrangement of all the flavors that you have chosen. Most bakers have, maybe, twenty to forty different cake flavors to choose from and maybe twenty to forty different fillings to choose from. You should always make sure that your baker has it narrowed down to about five or six that you might want to try on your tasting day. You will see all the cake flavors that you have chosen plus all of their fillings. Most likely they will be separated, maybe some together. It's always best to have them separated so you can taste each one individually. What you thought was a good combination at the time, might not be a good combination when you taste it. So you might want to switch out that coconut filling that you were going to put with your chocolate cake and switch it for a milk chocolate mousse or maybe a strawberry preserve.
