Summary: Zooming in on tracks in Logic Pro 8 makes minor adjustments easier. Make a Logic Pro 8 mix easier with the software tips in this free video on music production from a professional audio engineer.
"Right now I'm going to teach you about labeling and automation. Now labeling is very important just so you can keep your stuff organized. When mixing it's a very tedious process, it's a lot of factors that are involved, and a lot of little things that matter. So keeping things organized and being precise, it's like everything. So when doing automation, automation is a very important thing, because this is what adds those little, little adjustments in your track. These are things that you can record as far as like, minor adjustments within volume and panning. And even with your plug-ins and things like that, this can affect the level of how your plug-ins are used, and you can actually automate that. And this is a very powerful thing because there's not many programs that you can do as well as in logic. There's a lot of options for automation, and there's a lot of different things as far as trying to use plug-ins as affects. You can bring them in and out pretty easily with automation, and you can turn them on and off, and you can do a lot of different buses and re-route things into each other and create all new types of mixes and things like that. Also when doing this lesson, I'm going to be talking a lot about how to create the automation, how to delete the automation, and how to move the automation. So really just how to really play with it, and how to really customize it around what you're making."
