"Now, automation is recording like values and data that effect different aspects of your music as far as volume, panning and plug-ins and things like that. The automation allows you to adjust the levels, the mutes and basically sends. You know what I'm saying? So, when you have a track and you're sending into reverb or another track, the automation is what can actually stop that send for a certain phrase or stop it for the verse. You know what I'm saying? So, if you have a solo come on, you want it to go to this extra delay, just at the solo, not for the rest of the song, just so you can add a special part at the very end or wherever. This is what can actually help it. Now, when you go into your screen on Logic, by pressing the A button can actually turn on all your automation. And what you could do from here is go into your volume box, where is says "Volume", and change the different automation parameters. You know what I'm saying? At the bottom, you have the panning, Display Off, things like that. But you also have things like your Sculpture, Compression, EQ, Phaser. These are all different plug-ins. And if you look at it, you're going to see different parameters per plug-in. These are all things you can draw in; you know what I'm saying? You can take this analyzer top and actually draw it in at a certain point and customize it to your track."
