"Next I'm going to go over some different techniques that I use to edit my midi data. When editing midi data, there's a lot of different tools, and a lot of different tool boxes within pearl tools that helps you and kind of gives you short cuts as far as editing. But usually the best way to do is really just to go in and manually edit certain things. So what I'm going to do is show you how to manually go in and fix certain mistakes and edit certain things as far as like recording data and trying to split up the notes and trying to separate things and really get everything really organized in a good way, you can see it and manipulate it in a way that's very easy to do. When doing this in recording the midi data, you got to remember that the midi data is just data that tells the computer what to play or tells keyboard what to play and the midi data is not actually sound. It triggers the sound within certain sound modules and certain machines and things like that, but the midi data is very useful as far as like controlling the data and manipulating the data. You can also use that data in other machines and transfer all the things you manipulated and all the little velocities and durations and attacks and releases, you can bring all that to another platform and use it. And that's why it's so powerful."
