"In this series I am going to be talking to you about safety gear and trail ratings. Not only is the type of board you are riding important but also where you are riding and what you are riding with. If you are just a beginner I mean obviously you are going to start off on the bunny slope at lessons but until you are really confident on the board I wouldn't go on anything above a green circle because they start to add moguls and nodes and a lot of variables that only expert riders would be able to handle. Once you have progressed a little bit I mean feel free to move on to a blue square and until you are 100% confident on the board I would stay away from black diamonds and double black diamonds. Safety gear is also another huge issue. Goggles are key. A helmet is key. If you want to save your wrists there is wrist guards. If you want to save your head there is a helmet. They make some impact shorts if you want to ease your butt pain and I don't know just the main thing is to have fun."
