"Hi, it's Dow here at the Firehouse detail shop. Today we're teaching you how to detail your boat like a professional detailer. We've just talked about the importance of the right products, and as important as products are, it's also important that we have the same the correct tools available to us to clean the boat. Now, when we're detailing autos or boats, we always have our professional detail cart available. It has got a wide assortment of all the chemicals, cleaners, solvents, everything we're going to need with waxes and scratch removers to do a good job. You may not have this available to you, but I do want to take just a minute and give you a little tip. When we do a boat, I like to have a caddy around so I can take the products that I'm going to use, put them in here, unlike a car where we can just reach back and grab it. When we're inside a boat, working on the inside of the boat, it's nice to have all your cleaners, a place for your towels, your brushes, so you're not going in and out of the boat multiple times. So you might want to have a caddy available, and again, fill it with towels, fill it with all the equipment you're going to need. What we're going to need for the exterior of the boat, of course, is the tools to wash it properly. Where we live in Utah, we've got hard water in our lakes so it's very common, especially you pull a black boat like this out of the water, as soon as that water dries on there you're going to have tons of hard water to remove. So we're going to need special cleaners for that, but, on the exterior of the boat, a nice pull brush that we can go in and out of the water with is going to be required. You're going to want a bucket left to your soap solution. In a mitt, or some washing device. And then you're going to want a lot of different brushes to clear the cracks and crevices. As a professional detailer, you know, we use these little belt clips so that we have all the tools and brushes available that we're going to need just to work through the boat. Minimizes the time going in and out, and what do I need. So we start with the right thing. Just like painting, sometimes the prep work takes a lot, you know, more time than actual cleaning. So make sure you have what you need. Get it where you need it, and then well be able to move faster. We're going to have additional brushes when it comes time for the trailer. We're going to talk about dressing the tires. We're going to talk about cleaning chrome. We're going to talk about interior cleaning. So rather than going through everything we have ere, you know, from the waxes and the metal polishes and putty and hard water removers, just, we'll talk about the specifics, but you're going to want to have a vacuum cleaner. I suggest a crevice tool along with your standard claw. Let me show you that. Just grab it right here. On our vacuum so we'll have the a shop vac or vacuum system with several different tools. And they're going to have water, high pressure washer if necessary, and that's really is the basic things we need to get started on our detailing of a boat today."
