Series Summary

A motorboat is a water vessel propelled by an internal combustion engine driving a jet pump or a propeller. A speedboat is a small motorboat designed to move quickly in races, for pulling water skiers, as patrol boats, and as fast-moving attack vessels in the military. Motorboats can differ greatly in size and configuration, from the Boston Whaler to the luxury mega-yachts that can cross oceans. In this free video series, the owner of a car wash explains and demonstrates how to do detailing work on a speed boat or motor boat. Cleaning products and tools are covered, as are tips for scrubbing a speed boat, cleaning the wheels and waxing the boat and trailer. Techniques for interior detailing are described as well, with an emphasis on deep-detailing and cleaning the engine.

"Hi, it's Dow Jones here, at the Fire House Car Wash in Utah. Today, we are using our expertise on detailing boats, motor boats. We've got one here behind us. We're going to be doing some demonstration. Before we jump in and do that, as is always the case, here at the Fire House, we worry about the safety of our employees, and we worry about the safety of you, as you're spending time on us. So, a couple of quick safety tips to point out. Is, first of all, eye protection, we always have safety glasses around, yeah, wear a pair of sunglasses, but get something, get your eyes. We're going to be using chemicals, acids, today. You've got grime, grit. We're going to be blowing forced air. We're using high pressure water. All the things which can create debris coming back at you, and the last thing we want is to have your eyes compromised. We also strongly recommend a pair of rubber gloves, and any other safety, you know, items that you need. We also, suggest washing and doing your detailing in an area that's free from, you know, where some thing's going to hit you or out on a busy road, or anything like that. So, make sure that you're in a safe environment, and you've got the proper safety tools. Then we'll go ahead and get started. You also want to use different products that are safe, and we'll talk more about that in future segments, to make sure that they're not going to damage anything. The wrong product in the wrong place, can do more damage than any good we could possibly do here today."
