"Hi it's Dow at the Firehouse car wash detail center. Today we're teaching and training on how to detail the exterior car like a professional. One of the tips and secrets that we use here at the Firehouse is a detailer's clay. This one is called perfect body by P and S. Used in conjunction with a product like the showroom shine, it gives us the ability to fix a lot of imperfections in paint. One of the things we are challenged with in today's environment is acid rain, industrial fallout. Industrial fallout are small metal particles that are in the air that settle down and cut into your clear coat. If you've got a white car you might see little rust spots. What it is, is that you've got metal specs inside the clear coat that need to be removed. If you ever run your hand over the surface of your paint and it doesn't feel smooth and soft, then you know that your car probably needs to be puttied or what we call clayed. Clay comes in a big bar like this, we typically take off a small piece kneaded to a soft thing and we'll coat the paint with some lubricant and we'll simply rub the putty over the car. The putty is grabbing the industrial fallout, light hard water spots and other product. And we want to take that and we want to go back and forth in the direction air flows over the car. So be back and forth in the way that the air flows across the car. And we are constantly getting new clay so that we are not taking imperfections we pulled and rubbing them across the car. If you drop it throw it away and get another piece because the last thing you want to do is pull up rocks or imperfections off the ground and put them up and rub them across the car. Clean environment is important. Once we've done that you'll be surprised, we finish it with a microfiber towel. You just go over it. The feel of it is completely different. You'll feel here a completely different feeling then you got over here because you lifted all the imperfections and impurities out of this paint. Now it's ready for a nice coat of polish or wax. The car will look great."
