"Hi it's Dow here at the Firehouse car wash and detail shop. We are teaching you today how to detail your car on the exterior like a professional. One of the important parts of the car is the tire and the wheel. We talked a little bit about polishing chrome making that clean. However, the tire is got to be nice and clean as well to really make the car pop. Although we don't have whitewalls here today, we still see whitewall tire or we'll see white raised letters on the tires. When it comes to the white, it's nice to have it bright and clean and really pop out. What we like to do is use a general purpose cleaner degreaser to simply cover the tire a little bit on the letters and we'll go in with a very aggressive metal brush. This is something similar to remove rust maybe from a painted surface. And we'll just go in and shine up those white letters or that white whitewall and make it really come back white. When we are finished with that, you know wipe the tire down good, get it clean and now we've prepared it for dressing. The wheel also you want to make sure the wheel is nice and clean. One of my favorite products there is just a non acid wheel cleaner. We cover the wheel, we let it dwell for a little bit. There maybe some stubborn areas where you have brake dust and others and you really going to have to go in and you are going to have to work that. You can use a soft bristle brush if you need to do it for the really stubborn spots. You go through, you get that all cleaned up and then it's ready to go on to the next stage. You've got a clean tire, you've got a bright shiny wheel and that leads to happy customers."
