"Okay in this segment we're going to cover removing the valve cover. This valve cover is very simple now that we have everything out of the way for accessibility. There's only four nuts that hold it on. They're ten millimeter cap nuts, we'll just remove those four nuts and then we have to remove the rubber washer or the rubber bushing and metal washer that fits in there. That centers and locates it, but they can get kind of dry rot and hard really make it a hassle to get the valve cover off. So we'll remove the bolts first, and if you remember back to our earlier segment we've already got one of them out of the way. I'll just break each one free, it really doesn't matter what order you take them off. When you tighten them down you want to go around and use a criss crossing pattern. But it's really not a issue at this point. And the first one we did which was closest to the distributor, if you notice it has one of the brackets for the plug wires. You want to make sure and remember where that went so you can go back and hold the plug wires in place. I'm going to keep all the nuts and parts together in groups. After we get the nuts off I'm going to use a straight screwdriver to break through every bushing and washers free. Now just stick them in one corner and use a twisting motion and that breaks them free, you just kind of walk around it, and just around gently taking your time. Some of them come off a little easier than others. Okay now that you've got those off sometimes it's necessary to just give a soft tap to the valve cover to actually break it free, because you'll get an adhesive action happening between the valve cover gasket and the cylinder head. It usually doesn't require much force to do this. And I'm just going to use a screwdriver and insert it in that clearance there between the valve cover and the head, and using a twisting motion I'll use that to break it free. Sometimes a rubber mallet works real easy this just seemed to be more accessible for me this time. So I just went around and caught each one of the four corners, get a good twist and that breaks it free and it should lift straight up and off the vehicle. Remember to keep the rubber valve cover gasket underneath attached with the valve cover. And I'll just set that aside. After removing the valve cover you'll see there are four seals. And those seal the engine oil out of the spark plug chamber, you'll need to remove those this time. And that gives us accessibility to the valves. So please watch our next segment and we're going to cover setting the engine on top, dead center cylinder number one compression stroke."
