"The next thing we're going to do is what's called the tire. The tire is a circle which the dogs needs to learn to jump through. With the tire, you always want to go through a progressive series of from low to high. As they get better at it, you can bring it up to their full height. A big dog like this is going to go through the tire at full height which is a full 24 inch height. As you're going through, the way to teach them to go through, is to bring your treat, tell them, tire, bring it through. Have your treat on the other side or yourself also and tell them tire. And you sometimes the walk around. So what you need to do is to figure out where your dog is succeeding the best, which seems to be pulling it through for her. Tire. Good girl! And do it the best way your dog is doing it for you. So if we were going to run with her, we would actually get here going, tell her, tire. Good girl! Always treat at the end. Use a lot of positive reenforcement. I like my little cheez-whiz cup here which actually works as a really good training tool. Bring her through again and tell her, tire! And come out the other end. You want to make sure that they don't knock it down because if they knock it down, it can really spook them. So we always want to make sure that it's secure and not moving on them."
