"Now that we have the car in the trailer, we're ready to take it down the road. We want to select the proper pulling gear. This particular truck is a 3/4 ton, it's built for towing. So it has low 1, low 2 and drive. It doesn't even have an overdrive gear. Starting out it's nice to get more power, not using much gas, and also just help your vehicle out by starting this vehicle in the low 1 position. Once you get moving you can shift up to 2nd, then up to drive. If your vehicle is equipped with overdrive do not pull in overdrive, even if it's a small trailer, that's a highway gear made to get better gas mileage with no power. And if you pull on overdrive, you're going to end up putting the transmission in your vehicle, and that's going to be getting towed back in the trailer."
